Wyatt Pettengill Joins SEARCH Board of Directors
Mr. Wyatt Pettengill, North Carolina’s governor-appointed representative to the SEARCH Membership Group, has moved onto the SEARCH Board of Directors, effective December 28, 2017. He fills a vacancy left by Massachusetts Member Curtis Wood, who stepped down from the Board after four years of service.
Mr. Pettengill will serve the remainder of Mr. Wood’s two-year Board term, which expires in 2019.
Mr. Pettengill is Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal Information and Identification Section, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI). He has been a SEARCH Member since January 2016.
In his position at SBI, Mr. Pettengill leads and oversees North Carolina’s central repository for criminal history record information (CHRI), as well as 10 specialized units, including automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) and technical search, noncriminal justice name and fingerprint background checks, crime reporting and statistics, sex offender, and training units.
Mr. Wood, who was first appointed to SEARCH in 2008, will continue to serve as Massachusetts’ representative on the SEARCH Membership. He was the 2016 recipient of the Gary R. Cooper Meritorious Service Award, SEARCH’s top Membership honor.
