SEARCH is pleased to announce that Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak has appointed Ms. Erica Souza-Llamas to serve as Nevada’s representative to the SEARCH Membership Group.
Gov. Sisolak made the appointment on April 7, 2022.
Ms. Souza-Llamas is Administrator of the Nevada State Police Records, Communications and Compliance Division, Nevada Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The RCCD operates Nevada’s central repository of criminal history records; among other tasks, the division is responsible for criminal history background checks, civil applicant background checks, the state’s sex offender registry, and uniform crime reporting.
Ms. Souza-Llamas succeeds Ms. Julie Butler, who served as Nevada’s governor-appointed SEARCH representative from 2014 to 2019, and who had served on the SEARCH Board of Directors and as SEARCH Vice Chair.
SEARCH welcomes Ms. Souza-Llamas to the SEARCH Membership.
The SEARCH Membership Group, the governing body of SEARCH, is comprised of one gubernatorial appointee from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories, as well as eight at-large appointees selected by SEARCH’s Chair. This national body of state-level professionals is widely representative of the various disciplines within the justice system, and many are responsible for operational decisions and policymaking concerning the management of criminal justice.
