Maryland Governor Appoints Donna Rowlette to SEARCH Membership Group
SEARCH is pleased to welcome a new gubernatorial appointee to our Membership Group, representing the State of Maryland: Ms. Donna Rowlette, Director of the Criminal Justice Information System-Central Repository (CJIS-CR), Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS).
The CJIS-CR operates a 24/7 center that provides fingerprint-supported background checks for criminal justice purposes and noncriminal justice purposes (such licensing and employment); creates, maintains, reports and expunges criminal history records; and maintains the state sex offender registry.
Ms. Rowlette is also a member of the Maryland Criminal Justice Information Advisory Board, which advises the Secretary of DPSCS and the Chief Judge of the Court Appeals on the operation of the state’s CJIS. She was appointed to the SEARCH Membership by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan on January 24, 2019. She fills a vacancy on the Membership for the state.The SEARCH Membership Group, which governs SEARCH, is comprised of one gubernatorial appointee from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories, as well as eight at-large appointees selected by SEARCH’s Chair. This national body of state-level professionals is widely representative of the various disciplines within the justice system, and many are responsible for operational decisions and policymaking concerning the management of criminal justice.
