SEARCH is pleased to welcome Mr. Al Nemerofsky, who joined SEARCH staff on January 15, 2024, as Director of Finance and Administration. In this new role, Al administers financial, IT, facilities and human resource programs of SEARCH, generates internal financial reports, prepares financial documents required by federal, state, and local government agencies, and oversees a staff of finance professionals.
Prior to joining SEARCH, Mr. Nemerofsky was a Senior Vice President of Finance and Compliance for the Springboard family of nonprofit organizations, one of the leading nonprofit credit counseling and CDFI mortgage lending agencies in the U.S. His duties included financial planning, forecasting, strategic analysis, regulatory compliance, and process improvement, as well as monitoring of proposed and pending legislation from state attorneys general and the U.S. Departments of Treasury and Housing & Urban Development.

Mr. Nemerofsky has 13 years of experience serving nonprofit organizations, including providing oversight for grant and contract applications, funding and compliance. In previous positions, he worked in corporate compliance, contracts, and financial operations positions for private companies in California.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland; a Master of Business Administration degree in Information Systems from George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; a Juris Doctor from Whittier College, California; and a Master of Laws degree in Taxation from the University of Florida. He has authored numerous articles published in various law journals.
