The U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs (OJP) recently released an interactive map of FY 2023 awards.
OJP awarded 3,760 cooperative agreements across the country for a total of approximately $4.4 billion to be used to strengthen community safety, promote civil rights and racial equity, increase access to justice, support crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, and build trust between law enforcement and communities. Importantly, OJP awards were also targeted at initiatives designed to share critical information aimed at improving criminal history records.
The interactive map enables users to hover over a state to see total awards by city and click on any state to see detailed award information.
The OJP consists of the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Bureau of Justice Statistics, the National Institute of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Office for Victims of Crime, and Office of Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking.
More information about OJP is available at https://www.ojp.gov/about, and a full listing of awards is accessible through the OJP Dashboards site.
