New title

SEARCH is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Lisa LaBarre, Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS), to the SEARCH Membership Group.

Ms. LaBarre is Product Manager of Criminal History and Biometrics Information Systems in the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at DPS.

She was appointed to the SEARCH Membership by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on May 22, 2024.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) provides investigative and specialized law enforcement services to prevent and solve crimes in partnership with law enforcement, public safety and criminal justice agencies. Services include criminal justice training and development, forensic laboratory analysis, criminal histories and investigations.

Ms. LaBarre replaces Minnesota’s previous SEARCH representative, Ms. Dana Gotz, who retired in 2023 and had served as a SEARCH Member since 2017.

SEARCH Members and Staff welcome and congratulate Ms. LaBarre on her appointment.

The SEARCH Membership Group, the governing body of SEARCH, is comprised of one gubernatorial appointee from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories, as well as eight at-large appointees selected by SEARCH’s Chair. This national body of state-level professionals is widely representative of the various disciplines within the justice system, and many are responsible for operational decisions and policymaking concerning the management and sharing of criminal justice information.
