Yeselin Pendleton Joins SEARCH Membership as Tennessee’s Governor Appointee

New title

SEARCH is pleased to announce that on August 1, 2022, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee appointed Ms. Yeselin Pendleton to serve as the state’s representative to the SEARCH Membership Group.

Ms. Pendleton is Assistant Director of the Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). The CJIS Division serves local, state, and federal justice agencies, and the public, by serving as the state’s repository for criminal records, administering background checks, and operating the communications hub that connects the state’s law enforcement agencies.

Ms. Pendleton had been serving in an interim role as SEARCH’s Tennessee representative since April 2021, following the retirement of the state’s previous SEARCH Member Mr. Brad Truitt. Mr. Truitt had served in the SEARCH Membership for 17 years, including numerous terms on the Board of Directors and several terms as SEARCH Chair.

SEARCH Members and Staff are pleased to formally welcome Ms. Pendleton to the Membership Group.

The SEARCH Membership Group, the governing body of SEARCH, is comprised of one gubernatorial appointee from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories, as well as eight at-large appointees selected by SEARCH’s Chair. This national body of state-level professionals is widely representative of the various disciplines within the justice system, and many are responsible for operational decisions and policymaking concerning the management of criminal justice.
