Ms. Michelle Kleckler, the State of Michigan’s representative to the SEARCH Membership Group, has moved onto the SEARCH Board of Directors, effective February 1, 2023. She fills a vacancy left by former Arkansas Member, Mr. Brad Cazort.
Mr. Cazort had served on the SEARCH Membership Group since 2017 and as an elected Board Member since 2019. He resigned from the Membership and Board following his recent retirement as Director of the Arkansas Crime Information Center.
Ms. Kleckler will serve the remainder of Mr. Cazort’s two-year Board term, which expires in July 2023.
Ms.Kleckler is Division Director of the Criminal Justice Information Center, Michigan State Police, and has been a SEARCH Member since her appointment by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in May 2021. The Criminal Justice Information Center maintains the state’s criminal history repository, conducts background checks, operates the state’s sex offender registry, and reports crime data, among other responsibilities.
The 15-member SEARCH Board of Directors, selected by the full Membership Group, provides general oversight and translates corporate goals and objectives into program directives and operating policies.
