SEARCH is pleased to announce that Maryland Governor Lawrence Hogan Jr. has appointed Ms. Lynda Lovette to serve as the state’s representative to the SEARCH Membership Group.
Ms. Lovette is Director of the Criminal Justice Information Systems-Central Repository for the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services.
The appointment was made July 14, 2022.
Maryland’s CJIS is the state’s central repository for criminal history record information and is responsible for conducting fingerprint-supported background checks, including those for employment, licensing and other purposes; it also maintains the state’s sex offender registry.
Ms. Lovette fills a vacancy on the SEARCH Membership for the State of Maryland. SEARCH Members and Staff welcome Ms. Lovette to the Membership Group.
The SEARCH Membership Group, the governing body of SEARCH, is comprised of one gubernatorial appointee from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories, as well as eight at-large appointees selected by SEARCH’s Chair. This national body of state-level professionals is widely representative of the various disciplines within the justice system, and many are responsible for operational decisions and policymaking concerning the management of criminal justice.
