2020 SEARCH Winter Meeting Begins in Columbia
SEARCH Members, Staff, Guests and speakers from state and federal justice agencies are gathered in Columbia, South Carolina, this week for SEARCH’s 2020 Winter Membership Group Meeting.
The meeting, which runs from Jan. 28-30 at the Marriott Columbia, features workshops and sessions on such issues as gaps in criminal history records systems, criminal history record expungement/sealing and “clean slate” activities across the nation, defining standard data quality metrics for computerized criminal histories (CCH), the transition to NIBRS, the FBI’s rapid DNA analysis initiative, and more.
SEARCH Members meet twice a year to discuss, debate, analyze and strategize on key policy, operational and technical issues impacting justice information sharing—and then speak as a consensus voice of the states on those issues.
SEARCH’s next Membership Group Meeting will take place Monday, July 22 in St. Louis, Missouri, in conjunction with a 2020 SEARCH Symposium on Justice Information Technology, Policy and Research. SEARCH will release details of these events by mid-February.
