South Carolina Member Joins SEARCH Board of Directors
Major Jennie M. Temple, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), has joined the SEARCH Board of Directors.
Major Temple serves as South Carolina’s governor-appointee to the SEARCH Membership Group. She leads SLED’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), which operates and maintains a statewide Crime Information Center that includes the Uniform Crime Reports Section, the Central Records Repository, and the CJIS Training Unit. The Center conducts and disseminates crime analysis information and provides criminal identification and records information to local, state and federal agencies. CJIS is also responsible for the state’s law enforcement data communications network.
SEARCH’s 15-member Board of Directors, elected by the full Membership Group, provides general oversight and translates corporate goals and objectives into program directives and operating policies. Board Members serve 2-year terms, and include 11 State-appointed and 4 At-Large Members.
Major Temple fills a vacancy on the Board due to the recent retirement of New Jersey Member Capt. Ron Rivera.
