Justice Information Exchange Model (JIEM) Certified Users
The Justice Information Exchange Model (JIEM) Certification Program enables public- and private-sector individuals to receive in-depth instruction on
JIEM and its components. The components include
the JIEM Methodology,
Reference
Model, and the new Eclipse-based JIEM Modeling Tool,
which was released Sept. 25, 2007. Individuals
certified on previous versions of the Tool can
update their certification by attending a
90-minute Quick-Start WebEx session rather than
attending the entire 1 ½-day JIEM training class
again. (Sign
up for the WebEx session.)
JIEM certification requires participation in the training course and passing the certification exam, which assesses the following:
1) An understanding of business process
analysis;
2) Comprehension of the dimensions of
information exchange embodied in the JIEM and
their application to modeling information flow
and business processes;
3) The ability to enter information exchanges
into the JIEM Modeling Tool; and
4) The ability to administer and manage the
JIEM Tool.
JIEM-certified individuals have satisfactorily completed a certification course and achieved a passing grade on the certification examination. By doing so, they have demonstrated their ability to use the Tool and can assist organizations in state, local and tribal jurisdictions with modeling system information flow and business rules by identifying, describing, documenting, and defining key inter-agency information exchanges.
