SEARCH Programs

SEARCH has an experienced team of specialists who carry out a range of activities that support our common vision and goals and serve the justice and public safety community nationwide. This includes ensuring that-

justice and public safety decisionmakers have the information they need that is accurate and timely; supported by well-deployed information and identification technology; that promotes privacy; and that is appropriately secured.

These activities include hands-on work like technical assistance, training, specialty workshops and national conferences; resources like justice modeling tools and online reference lists; research and publication of specialized technical, legal and policy reports and guides; and national surveys on justice information issues.

These are carried out through SEARCH's four program areas, which support the criminal records law and policy, high-tech crime investigative training, communications interoperability, and systems and technology procurement, implementation and information sharing needs of organizations and practitioners in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories. 	Meet the Law and Policy Team Law and Policy Our Law and Policy Program helps develop responsible justice information management laws, policies and procedures. We focus on research and projects that examine emerging trends and issues with the potential to impact the collection, maintenance and exchange of justice information.
	Meet the High-Tech Crime Training Team High-Tech Crime Our High-Tech Crime Investigative Training Program offers training courses designed to teach high-tech investigators the skills they need to stay ahead of criminals in the fight against crime.
	Meet the Public Safety Team Public Safety Our Public Safety Program prepares police, fire, and EMS agencies for successful technology projects, including computer-aided dispatch, records management systems, mobile computers, interoperable communications systems and others.
	Meet the Systems and Technology Team Systems and Technology Our Systems and Technology Program assists state, local and tribal justice and public safety to develop, operate, secure and improve information sharing and identification systems. We provide this assistance through products and services in the areas of interoperability and systems and technology procurement and implementation.
