New Arkansas Member Brad Cazort Joins SEARCH

By SEARCH

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has appointed Mr. Brad Cazort to serve as Arkansas’ representative to the SEARCH Membership, effective Nov. 30, 2017.

Mr. Cazort is Director of the Arkansas Crime Information Center, which provides information technology services to more than 250 law enforcement and criminal justice agencies in the state. The agency administers a comprehensive data system that interfaces with the FBI’s National Crime Information Center and similar systems in other states; collects and publishes statistics on crime; manages the crime victim notification system; and operates the state sex offender registry.

Mr. Cazort replaces Mr. Jay Winters, who retired as ACIC Director earlier this year. Mr. Winter had represented SEARCH on the Membership from April 2012 to September 2017.

SEARCH Members and Staff welcome Mr. Cazort to the SEARCH Membership.

The SEARCH Membership Group, which governs SEARCH, is comprised of one gubernatorial appointee from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories, as well as eight at-large appointees selected by SEARCH’s Chair. This national body of state-level professionals is widely representative of the various disciplines within the justice system, and many are responsible for operational decisions and policymaking concerning the management of criminal justice information, particularly criminal history information. The Membership Group fosters cooperation and communication among justice system professionals in identifying and implementing solutions to common problems.
