Mr. Maury Mitchell, who has served as Alabama’s representative on the SEARCH Membership Group since 2011, was appointed to the SEARCH Board of Directors May 8.

Mr. Mitchell is Director of the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center.

He fills a vacancy on the 15-member Board created by the departure of Mr. David Jobes, the SEARCH Membership’s Iowa representative. Mr. Jobes resigned from the Membership Group earlier this month after taking a new position within the Iowa Department of Public Safety. He had been a Member of SEARCH since 2011.

Mr. Mitchell’s term on the SEARCH Board will expire in July 2015.

SEARCH’s 15-member Board of Directors, elected by the full Membership Group, provides general oversight and translates corporate goals and objectives into program directives and operating policies. Board Members serve 2-year terms, and include 11 State-appointed and 4 At-Large Members.
