In this important session, attendees will learn about the complexities of government technology procurement and contracting within the confines of grant funded initiatives. Attendees will also receive tips, suggestions and the "do's and don'ts" of this precarious process, including strategies for sole sourcing and renegotiating existing vendor agreements.

As part of their grant requirements, COPS/FEMA Interoperability grantees are required to conduct a formal assessment of their demonstration project. This session will review the objectives under this requirement and provide attendees with a preview of the survey instrument that will guide their assessment.

This working lunch will merge the knowledge and tools shared over the past three days to help agencies determine specific next steps that may be required for their projects. Despite internal and external challenges each agency may face, mechanisms can be put in place to help ensure project success. This session will provide practical recommendations that attendees can incorporate when they return to their agency.
