BJS Seeks Candidates for Justice Statistics Policy Analyst Positions

The Bureau of Justice Statistics, in the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), U.S. Department of Justice, is seeking to fill up to two Grants Management Specialist (GS-1109/11/12) positions. The positions function as a Justice Statistics Policy Analyst and perform a variety of grants management and analytical functions in the Criminal Justice Data Improvement Program unit. This unit administers the National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP), the NICS Act Record Improvement Program (NARIP), and the State Justice Statistics program for state Statistical Analysis Centers (SACs). 

Through these programs and other efforts, BJS provides technical and financial support to state governments in developing capabilities in criminal justice statistics and improving their criminal history records and information systems. These efforts play an important role in building and maintaining an information infrastructure needed for criminal justice decision makers at all levels of government.
