SEARCH Hires Phillip Bennie to Handle IT Support

SEARCH is pleased to announce that Mr. Phillip Bennie has been hired as our new Laboratory and User Support Specialist, effective October 3, 2012. In his new position, Mr. Bennie is responsible for providing support and maintenance to SEARCH's High-Tech Crime Training Services mobile laboratories, as well as all staff needs relating to on-site and in-house computer technology, including training and technical assistance.

Mr. Bennie has over 10 years of experience working in the field of computer technology, working most recently as an Apple Certified Repair Technician and before that as a Tier II Apple Care Technical Support Representative.

Prior to earning his Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Network Systems from ITT Technical Institute in 2003, Mr. Bennie worked two years as a correctional officer in Arizona, working in both public and private prisons.

"I am very pleased that Phillip has chosen to bring his skills to SEARCH," said Mr. Tim Lott, SEARCH High-Tech Crime Training Services Director. He added, "We use a number of mobile laboratories to teach our hands-on courses across the country. These labs are completely based on the Apple platform now and it will be very helpful to have Phillip on-site. Although Apple computers tend to be very stable, the pace of SEARCH's high-tech teaching environment requires a lot of work to keep the labs functional and ready for rapid deployment. Having Phillip to do this maintenance will now free up the trainers to focus on continued course development."
