Mr. Oded Galili, Deputy Director, Minnesota Justice Information Services, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), Minnesota Department of Public Safety, has been appointed to represent Minnesota on the SEARCH Membership Group.

Minnesota governor Mark Dayton made the appointment on September 16, 2011.

The BCA's Minnesota Justice Information Services, or MNJIS, facilitates the access to and exchange of information between sources of criminal justice data. MNJIS also provides technology, training and services for Minnesota criminal justice agencies, enabling their use of criminal justice information to solve crimes, prosecute offenders and protect citizens.

Other recent appointees to the SEARCH Membership Group are:
  • Pennsylvania: Mr. Robert Merwine, Director, Office of Criminal Justice System Improvements, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, appointed July 29, 2011, by Governor Tom Corbett.
  • Arizona: Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey E. Raynor, Assistant Director, Technical Services Division, Arizona Department of Public Safety, appointed May 24, 2011, by Governor Jan Brewer.

The SEARCH Membership Group, which governs SEARCH, is comprised of one gubernatorial appointee from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as eight at-large appointees selected by SEARCH's Chair. This national body of state-level professionals is widely representative of the various disciplines within the justice system, and many are responsible for operational decisions and policymaking concerning the management of criminal justice information, particularly criminal history information. The Membership Group fosters cooperation and communication among justice system professionals in identifying and implementing solutions to common problems.
