SEARCH Vermont Member Francis Aumand III to receive 2011 Gary R. Cooper Meritorious Service Award

At a special meeting of the SEARCH Board of Directors - held in conjunction with the 2010 annual meeting in Burlington, Vermont - Mr. Francis (Paco) Aumand III was selected to receive the 2011 Gary R. Cooper Meritorious Service Award. The award will be presented at the next annual Membership Group meeting in July 2011.

Mr. Aumand is Director of the Division of Criminal Justice Services within the Vermont Department of Public Safety. He has been the Vermont representative to the Membership Group since 1996, and recently ended a six-year stint as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In addition to his service on the Board of Directors, Mr. Aumand has served on many SEARCH committees and was a member of the National Task Force on the Criminal Record Backgrounding of America. He was elected to another term on the Board in July 2010.

Wanting to honor their out-going Chair with the nomination in his own hometown, the Board of Directors called a special meeting to order at the conclusion of the 2010 awards dinner in Burlington. Mr. Mike Lesko, this year's Cooper Award recipient, motioned to nominate Paco "for his many professional accomplishments, his dedication and contributions to this organization, and his service as the longest-serving Chair in SEARCH history."
