SEARCH Receives Software and Training Donation

At the January SEARCH Membership Meeting, Mr. Todd Shipley, Director of Training Services presented an award to Guidance Software for its support of the SEARCH Training Division. Awards were also presented to Mr. Bob Sheldon, Executive Vice President, Professional Development and Training and Mr. Bill Seibert (not in attendance), Director of Public Relations for Guidance Software for individual assistance and support to the SEARCH Training Division.
Guidance donated the software in recognition of the contribution SEARCH makes in the advancement of cyber forensics training for law enforcement. SEARCH uses the licenses to provide training to its students—state and local law enforcement personnel—to understand the forensic process and how digital evidence is obtained from various media.
Mr. Bob Sheldon, Executive Vice President, Professional Development and Training for Guidance Software, and Mr. Bill Seibert, Director of Public Relations, have been liaisons to SEARCH on various projects. Without their direct involvement and interest in SEARCH's training program, the donations would not have occurred.
"Without Guidance Software's support our students would not receive the complete picture of what cyber evidence is in the world today. Guidance's donation allows our staff to properly equip and train our law enforcement students with the knowledge they need to investigate crime in the new century," said Todd Shipley, Director, Systems Security and High Tech Crime Training at SEARCH.
