Curriculum Development Specialist

Job Overview
The Curriculum Development Specialist is responsible for developing lesson plans, course curriculum, and associated training related materials and content such as PowerPoint presentations. The position is staff primarily for the High-Tech Crime Training Services program at SEARCH, under the direction of the Director of High-Tech Crime Training Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A partial list of this position's duties and responsibilities include:
- Responsible for development of both online and classroom curriculum, with resources and assistance provided by the High-Tech Crime Training Services program instructional staff.
- Responsible for creating and writing training programs, including activities related to local and outreach training, training development, and training programs with other criminal justice agencies nationally.
- Provides input to the Director on issues affecting training on High-Tech Crime Training methodologies, technologies, and trends.
- Researches adult learning, curriculum development and online learning trends and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the SEARCH learning experience.
- Responsible for development of adult learning activities and providing student materials for training courses and conference sessions.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Director, Deputy Executive Director, or Executive Director. These may include curriculum development for other program areas within SEARCH.
Required Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Education with emphasis on adult learning, curriculum development, and online learning management system is preferred; however, current and equivalent experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system and/or computer science is also preferred.
- Key candidate capabilities include:
- Knowledge of modern instructional techniques.
- Strong abilities in contemporary curriculum development for both online and classroom environments.
- Experience with online learning management systems (LMS) such as Moodle.
- Ability to work effectively with corporate staff and officials, and others with whom the corporation is directly or indirectly related.
- Working knowledge of both the MacOSX and Windows operating systems.
- Competent skills using Adobe Captivate and the Microsoft Office 2007 suite, to include PowerPoint and Publisher.
- The Curriculum Development Specialist must have a combination of formal education or field experience, which demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of new and emerging computer technology and modern instructional techniques and methods.

None.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
A current driver's license and proof of auto insurance are required.
Compensation
Competitive salary commensurate with experience will be offered. Successful completion of a background check is required.
This is a part-time non-exempt position. The corporate office is located in Sacramento, California.
