A Salute to Longtime SEARCH Staff Nina Sullivan
We are saddened to announce the death of longtime Administrative Assistant Nina Sullivan, who passed away November 19 after a brief illness.
Nina joined SEARCH in 2005, and was a fixture at SEARCH Membership Group meetings in recent years, helping to organize and run these and other events held across the country. She also provided administrative support to SEARCH’s Information Sharing, Public Safety, and Law and Policy teams.
In remembering Nina, SEARCH Executive Director Scott Came said, “Nina has been a pillar of the SEARCH staff for over a decade, and a very good friend to all of us. Her dedication to the organization, her professionalism, and the kindness she showed to everyone will be missed.”
Nina was known for her warm personality, sense of humor, and dedication to her family. She is also remembered for her hospitality—she routinely welcomed remote staff visiting SEARCH’s Sacramento headquarters with a home-cooked meal.
A native of Texas, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from California State University-Sacramento. She is survived by a son, daughter-in-law, sister, and two grandchildren. Her family requests that any remembrances in Nina’s memory be made to the cancer charity of your choice.
