The Public Safety Technical Assistance Tools Website, operated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), features new documents prepared by SEARCH and posted in early 2013.
The new documents all focus on helping organizations set up and sustain Incident Command System (ICS) Communications Unit (COMU) Programs.
The DHS site features a wide range of materials contributed by its Office of Emergency Communications (OEC), SAFECOM and ICTAP, the Interoperable Communications Technical Assistance Program (see sidebar). SEARCH prepared the new resources under funding from DHS.
The beginning of the New Year brought changes to SEARCH—most significantly, the end of Mr. Ronald P. Hawley‘s tenure as SEARCH Executive Director.
Mr. Hawley’s final day as Executive Director was January 6, 2013. He is transitioning to a role as an information services consultant.
SEARCH Chairman Francis X. Aumand III praised Mr. Hawley’s leadership and years of service to the organization.
As Executive Director, Mr. Hawley directed and managed all corporate and project activities carried out by SEARCH’s professional staff.
